Honouring the officers who gave everything. Supporting the families they left behind.
Each year on 29 September, Queensland joins the nation in recognising the service and sacrifice of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
National Police Remembrance Day is a time to pause — to honour those who answered the call, and to acknowledge the families who carry that loss every day.
Queensland Police Legacy has been part of the tradition of National Police Remembrance Day since its inception. We stand alongside the Queensland Police Service and the broader law enforcement community to ensure fallen officers are never forgotten.
Remembrance isn’t just one day a year. It’s the foundation of everything Queensland Police Legacy does.
Every school fee covered, every extra-curricular activity funded, every development experience organised, these are acts of remembrance. They are a commitment to the children and families of fallen officers that their loss will not define their future.
We honour the fallen by investing in those they loved most.
National Police Remembrance Day services are held annually across Queensland. Services typically include a candlelight vigil, wreath-laying ceremony, and an address reflecting on the sacrifice of fallen officers.
