Introducing National Police Legacy Day – 17 June

This year, on 17 June, we proudly mark a new tradition: the very first National Police Legacy Day.

For 54 years, Police Legacy organisations across Australia have provided support to police and their families. Through both heartbreak and healing.

Now, we come together nationally to honour this legacy of care. It is also a day to recognise all those who serve in our police forces — and the families who uphold their memory with strength and pride.

To celebrate National Police Legacy Day, we’re proud to introduce the Police Legacy Daisy, inspired by the Michaelmas Daisy—the flower of St Michael, patron saint of police.

With the Police Legacy Daisy we honour those who currently serve our community and remember those who are no longer with us.

It reminds us of our shared responsibility: to ensure no police family is ever left behind.

Follow us on social media to learn how you can get involved, purchase a pin, visit the National Police Legacy Day website at npld.org.au or support National Police Legacy Day in your community.

Police Legacy Daisy pins are now available at a cost of $5 from the Queensland Police Legacy office (cash only) or via post (bank transfer). Send us a message via info@policelegacyqld.org.au providing name, number required and postal address if you would like to order your pins by post.
