Springfield Police Station 24 Hour Weighted Ruck

The Mission: A Walk with a Purpose

We’re taking on the massive challenge of walking with weight for 24 continuous hours to raise vital funds for Queensland Police Legacy.

Every step counts, and every donation makes a difference. Our GoFundMe page is live, so please share it far and wide—let’s rally support and push for generous contributions!

The Concept: Choose Your Challenge

There are two ways to get involved:

  1. Solo Endurance
  • Take on the full 24-hour walk yourself. Structured rest periods will be built in to ensure hydration, nutrition, and safety are maintained throughout.
  1. Team Relay
  • Pair up or form a team to split the 24 hours however suits you best. The key is to have at least one team member walking at all times.
  • (This option is ideal for those who can’t secure a full day off but still want to contribute meaningfully)

The Route: Brighton Homes Arena

We’ll be walking laps around the oval on a hard-standing concrete path, chosen to minimise injury risk.

The start and finish line is the same location, and it’s also where you’ll find food, drinks, sponsor stalls, and rest areas.

The Weight: Your Call

This is where you make it personal. Whether it’s an ILBV, a weighted vest, a rucksack filled with water bottles, you get to choose what to carry.

All we ask is that some weight is worn to honour the spirit of the challenge.

On the Day: Stay Informed, Stay Safe

All registered participants will receive a detailed itinerary outlining:

• Timings for the day

• Scheduled rest and meal breaks

• Safety checks and support

Essentially, we want to bring awareness to the issues we face as a community when it comes to our mental health.

We want to start conversations within our teams, share stories and show that it is OK to ask for help, and raise funds for a great cause at the same time.
